KENNEDY CENTER’S MICHAEL KAISER

Free Street has had the privilege of participating in the capacity building seminars given by The DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the Kennedy Center. This means getting the immense opportunity to have access to the Kennedy Center’s top staff, especially Michael Kaiser, its prolific and visionary President. The half-day seminars delve into artistic planning, board development, fundraising, marketing, institutional visibility, and strategic planning. The 6th and last of these seminars was held on September 13 at the Chicago Cultural Center with Micheal Kaiser and David Kitto, Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Executive Director Mica Cole and Development Associate J.R. Magsaysay were, once again, awed by the comprehension of arts management knowledge (particularly with small organizations) that Mr. Kaiser and Mr. Kitto displayed, and with amazing candor and personality.
